IIT – International Intensive Training 2022

Bilingual – English / Deutsch

13. – 22. May 2022

An International Intensive Training (IIT) is a 9-day training with 40-70 participants and 3-5 experienced certified trainers providing an opportunity to dive deeply into the spirit and the practice of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

The topics cover the whole range of possible areas of implementation of NVC. From a menu of up to 20 workshops per day, participants can create their personal curriculum to suit their interests.

The core curriculum was developed by Marshall Rosenberg to provide participants a comprehensive impression of the potential of NVC. At the same time, living, eating and playing together in a community for a period of 9 days allows for insights gained to be put directly into practice and to strengthen personal skills in applying NVC.

In this IIT, the trainer team brings in complementary expertise on topics such as international peace-work, mediation, diversity, spirituality, as well as rich experiences in living NVC in a family, in society and business.

IITs are organised by the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC).  D-A-CH e.V. supports the work of CNVC as co-organiser in Germany.

Nayoma de Haen

I was lucky – I got my first impression of NVC in 2006 directly with Marshall Rosenberg, and after one hour, I knew this is what I want to learn to bring more honesty and peace to my relationships and what I want to spread in the world. Since then I have been learning, living and facilitating NVC in many fields, both in Germany and internationally. I have worked with people in schools, NGOs, communities, companies and recently more in supporting work teams who develop new participatory ways of cooperation. Since several years I am also working with women’s groups both in Germany and in Ukraine, where we are supporting each other to be our natural empathic selves within ourselves and with others, both at home and in the work place. My mindfulness meditation practice is an important resource for me. To me, NVC is applied mindfulness. I love to play on very practical everyday levels of communication in balancing needs like compassion and efficiency and to explore in depth that which is alive in me and you.

Godfrey Spencer

Godfrey thoroughly enjoys the sense of belonging generated before, during and after IITs. He moved from interpreting IITs for Marshall in the French-speaking world to assisting him when he was IIT lead trainer. Godfrey was subsequently co-opted by Klaus Karstädt to the CNVC Board. He and Klaus were invited by Louise Romain to facilitate the European Intensive Course at the Peace Factory in the Pyrenees for ten years.
He is especially turned on by life in the present, experiencing how past and future can become eminently manageable when brought into the here and now. IITs produce order in chaos! The unexpected can prove to be a real pedagogue! Pushing back the borders of classical NVC helps learners to integrate the power of this process in their day-to-day interactions.
Social change stems from inner change. Let’s remember that inner change is the real challenge and changing the world is a perilous illusion. Participants on my courses say how much they enjoy the passion, the novelty, the rigour, the humour, the language skills, the clarity … and the impression that time flies!
