What is the Mentoring and Pre-Assessment Event?
In the last decade, we have been witness to and part of the creation of a community of people committed to learning, deepening, and living NVC in South Asia. We’d like to offer the Mentoring and Pre-Assessment Event in support of this learning and our community.
The event is aimed towards creating a safe and creatively fulfilling space for a community of people who’d like to live and share NVC. We have a vision of supporting people sharing NVC in some of the 200+ languages on the Indian subcontinent.
In particular we want to support people who would like to develop their facilitation and training skills, including those who are in the certification process. In addition to this, this event is also intended to provide community and support for the people who are doing their Pre-Assessment for CNVC certification at the end.
Following on from the discussion on money at the IIT in September 2016, the theme of this event will Money and Power.

Who is this Event For?
Our intention is to support the most experienced members of the South Asian NVC community, who would like to develop their facilitation and training skills, within the CNVC certification process or without.
To this end, we are asking for 20 days’ training with a certified NVC trainer as a minimum. If you have less than 20 and think you may benefit from this event, we are open to dialoguing with you and some others in the NVC community who know you.
Please note that we will not be teaching the basics or even the intermediate aspects of NVC. This is an advanced training for people who want to share NVC.
We anticipate that there will be 20-30 participants.
On the application form we will ask you for: number of days training, with whom, and how would you benefit from this event? How are you intending to use the skills you learn on this event?

Co-creating the Mentoring Event in the Spirit of Gift Culture
We found the fishbowl on money at the IIT very powerful. It reminded us that we want to be in integrity with what we do. To this end, and in keeping with our theme, we’re exploring Gift Culture for this event.

What is Gift Culture or Giftivism?
Most of the participants on this Mentoring Event have been coming to NVC events for years, and are the most likely to contribute to growth of NVC in India. Gift Culture has worked for us on conventions. In fact it has generated energy and growth in the community. For more information and inspiration, you could watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpyc84kamhw
This talk was one of the resources that inspired us to opt for gift culture for this event: “Ultimately, our inner transformation is tied to the outer manifestation… and that’s Giftivism.” We appreciate that this may be a new concept for some. Please get in touch with us if you need more information or want to talk it over.

Our Projected Costs
Our total projected cost for holding this event is Rs. 5,61,287.
This sum covers the following:
1. Participants’ food and lodging at Montfort Spirituality Center in Bangalore
2. Flights to and from India for the trainers, partially
3. Flights within India for the two organisers
4. Board and lodging at Montfort for the trainers and the organisers
5. An honorarium for the trainers
6. Printing, miscellaneous
7. Business visas for three trainers
8. Possible extra costs (such as taxes and handling charges)
We will send participants a more detailed budget once they’ve registered.
We expect 30 participants. That means the actual cost is Rs. 18,710 per participant.

How Much Shall I Contribute?
We, the trainers and organisers, are joyfully offering this event to support the growth of NVC community in India. Inspired by the spirit of gift culture, we encourage choice and responsibility for you in deciding how much to contribute financially. What would you be willing to joyfully contribute? We invite you to contribute what you would consider, in some measure, the value you will receive through your participation as well as what is economically viable for you. We trust you to contribute an amount that enables you to participate joyfully.
We are committed to the community’s needs for transparency and integrity, and will share our accounts with all participants during and immediately after the event. If you choose to contribute more than Rs. 18,710, you will be helping us include and support those who may find it challenging to participate otherwise.
Your presence is important to us and a gift regardless of how much you contribute. We are open to supporting anyone for whom finances would be an obstacle to attending this event. For us, the value lies in your participation and presence, and in building a strong, broad-based NVC community. We as event organisers trust that together we will find a balance between our courage and joy in bringing to life our vision, as well as our need to be financially sustainable and safe. By doing so, we foster a special energy that exists when we share gifts in our communities.

How shall I make my contribution?
We are now ready to accept your contribution. Details will be emailed to you once you have registered below!
Once we’ve received your contribution, we will send you an email confirming your presence at the Mentoring Event.
It would support us if you could mention the amount you’re intending to contribute towards creating this space in the registration form below, if you already know.
